Jessie, played by Kiwi treasure Rose Matafeo, is one of the greatest characters ever — in a show whose rom-com trope is a normie and a celebrity falling for each other, you immediately see the appeal of Jessie-the-normie, and it takes longer for Tom-the-celeb to grow on you. To know Jessie is to love Jessie.

Of course, it does help that this is one of the two shows in this genre smart enough to cast Extreme Hottie Nikesh Patel as the male lead. The chemistry is delicious!
